How To Spot Clean Headliner

Learn how to easily clean your wheels with great results using proper methods and everything you will need to get the job done.

Why is washing your wheels important?


Washing and Detailing your wheels is important because more often then not it goes un-noticed. Most of the time people are more focused on washing the Vehicle itself but there missing out on a crutial step the wheels! Your Tires and Rims are what makes contact with the road and they get the most wear and tare from road debris, to brake dust and brake particles from all the metals grinding together.


All these things when they go without care get embedded in your rims and tires creating brake dust, discouloro, fading, less resistance to UV Protection which can cause premature fading and potentially cracking of the tire. When you wash your wheels your preserving the value of your vehicle and making sure that things last longer it's preventive maintenance.


What you will need:

  • Access to water

  • Hose with noozle/pressure washer

  • Wheel and Tire Brush

  • Fenderwell Brush

  • Detailing Brush

  • Wheel Spoke Brush

  • Wheel Soap & Cleaner

  • Microfiber Towels/Blower

  • Tire Dressing

Steps to cleaning wheels:


Step #1 Rinse: Start with spraying down the wheels. This is going to help break up and knock off light surface containments like dirt, debris, brake dust and metal particles and tars. Make sure to get in around the Fenderwell and in the spokes of the wheels. Step: 2 Decontamination: Spray all the Tires, Rims and Fender Wells with a dedicated wheel cleaner and let it dwell for a few minutes to do it's work. Step: 3 Wash: Have a bucket ready with a grit gaurd. Fill with water and add some car wash soap or wheel soap to the bucket. Foam up with pressure washer.


Start cleaning the tires with your wheel brush make sure that you dunk all your brushed in your soapy bucket this is going to help add lubrication so you don't scratch or damage your rims and tires plus it's going to add more cleaning power then just the wheel cleaner sprayed on before hand. Now take your wheel spoke brush this will be used to clean the rims and get in between your wheel spokes where break dust and metal shaving can build up, make sure to clean well and get all angles go as far in as your can and get around as much as you can. Final step of the wash faze is to take your detailing brush 🖌️ and work on the face of the rims getting around the lug nuts emblems and the rim face.


Complete with a final rinse to remove all the washed away containments and debris that you cleaned with all your various cleaners and brushes we want to make sure the wheels are rinse thoroughly so nothing is left behind and can prepare for the drying stage. Step: 4: Dry Dry the tires and rims with a microfiber cloth. You can also use a blower to get into more cracks and crevices and also makes it easier, more efficient and effective. Step: 5 Dressing Take your favorite tire dressing and apply some onto an applicator pad and rub it into the Tire's working in semi-circular motions from left and right. Dressing the tires is going to give it a nice wet look rather than dry faded tires and it's also going to help with UV Protection which will prolong the damage of UV rays.
